The questioners were distributed for 80 samples of which only 70 respondents were replied this means the response rate were 87.5% In Ethiopia construction industry traditional approach was predominantly in vogue in almost all of the projects. Identification of critical success factors would be helpful to formulate effective strategies for minimizing the cost of Construction Projects. The research design employed was descriptive in its nature. Both primary and secondary data sources were used to collect data, the questionnaire and interview were used as a tool to gather data from primary sources. Secondary data was to be accessed from key informants such as contractors, consultants and suppliers, involving stakeholders at the planning stage of the project. The finding of the study shown that time overrun and cost overrun were the two most common effects of delays in construction project. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 24) and results presented in frequency tables in addition content analysis method of data analysis were used .
